Day 238

Today we jumped our last hoop in Temu's adoption by getting his adoption finalized in the Massachusetts (Hampshire County) Family Court. We spent more time in the courtroom playing, exploring, sitting in the judge's seat...than doing actual business.  The judge was really nice and seemed to enjoy playing with Temu. She did take a second to sign his adoption decree, though.  Our friend, Joeli, was there to celebrate with us, and she also served as our photographer.

Temu with our attorney, Renee.  She and Temu got along really well!

Sitting in the judge's seat.

Playing with cups in the witness stand.

Leading the judge into the courtroom.

Helping the judge decide which pen to use to sign his decree.

Unlike our experience in Ethiopian court, today's events went extremely smooth and fast.  After we left the courtroom we went to the office next-door where we got all of our paperwork and a framed copy of his adoption decree along with a photo with the judge.

Upon leaving the courthouse we saw (to Temu's great delight) a truck! The driver was really nice and let Temu sit in her seat and honk the horn.  Being cute really does get you more opportunities.

And here we are...jumping the last hoop!

**The blog is going to take a little break over the next couple of days, but will return with retro-posted photos and stories.  We are especially thankful for Temu this Thanksgiving, although we are thankful for him and his presence in our lives every day.
Happy Thanksgiving!
