Day 70 - 11 months old and going strong!

Believe it or not our little guy is 11-months old today!  It's hard to believe that in just 1 month we'll be celebrating the big 0-N-E!  Initially we thought about getting him a birthday-loaf-of-bread to celebrate, but a birthday ice cream sandwich might be in order.

At 11-months he is still crawling all over the place, even on the grass which he now loves.  He's cruising quite well while holding onto furniture, especially when a desired object is in his  sight.  He pulls himself to standing on anything and everything - people and furniture included. He's working on standing alone, taking some steps (this is starting to sound like a report card - must be the teacher in mama speaking!), high-fives, waving, and blowing kisses.

We've heard some "words" come out of his usual babbling lately.  In addition to dada, mama (yes, he does say it but not as often as dada), yaya, gee, and making the "f," "v," and "s" sounds he says "ah-dun" - that's "all done" in Temu-talk, "uh-oh" which is so handy, and "hi" in the same high pitched way mama says it.  Pretty funny.

He loves his sandbox and pool, is signed up for the summer session of Water Babies at the Y due to popular demand, and will also be starting a music class in June.  Busy boy!

He's teething pretty fiercely right now - he's going from 4 to 8 in lightning speed.  He has had 2 teeth on the top and 2 on the bottom.  The next 2 top teeth have broken through in the last couple days and now the next 2 bottom teeth are coming - we can feel them and see the white so it has to be soon.   Needless to say, not so much fun.  He takes his motrin like a man when he needs it, sleeps a lot and at weird times, and his diet/eating habits are a little funky.  Mama has had to be quite creative in the kitchen.  We're very lucky in that he's still pretty jovial most of the time - it's just quite clear when he's in pain.  Who wouldn't be?

One last note - stairs.  We've worked hard to steer him away from the stairs for obvious safety reasons.  However, last weekend when Matt was home we decided to let Temu try them out with one of us at the top of the stairs and one right behind him.  He motored right up about 7 stairs with no problem at all....then he stopped and looked down; that was the first time we ever saw him truly scared.  Glad to see he has a sense of adventure AND a sense of what's potentially scary/dangerous!

Thanks for keeping up with us!
